Express
Pixelpusher built an interactive mirror using RFID to sense items of clothing and make relevant fashion suggestions.
The Challenge
Clothing retailer Express wanted to make a splash at events across Canada, including a stop at one of Canada’s most important festivals, the Toronto International Film Festival. They needed an idea to generate buzz and build awareness for their comprehensive fashion line, and let people know that when it comes to clothes, Express has something for everyone.
Our Solution
We built a Magic Mirror. Working with Midfield Marketing, Pixelpusher built an interactive mirror using RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) to sense items of clothing selected by visitors. The mirror also had the ability to connect subjects to a real-life stylist, who could offer style tips from a remote, off-site location. The mirror, housed in a converted Airstream trailer, was programmed with swiping technology so visitors could scroll though Express designs and enter a “Spin to Win” contest. The entire experience was also produced in tablet form for the throngs who couldn’t get near the mirror. Check it out.
