The Challenge

How do you turn 2D into 3D, without a Star Trek style Holodeck? That was the question asked by Blammo Worldwide when they approached Pixelpusher to help promote Fallsview Casino at Toronto’s Dundas Square. Inspired by the excitement of Canada’s most dynamic public space, Toronto’s version of Times Square, we put our AR thinking caps on and got to work.

Our Solution

Working with the Blammo team, we created an Augmented Reality app, the Fallsview Casino Funsquare App that could be loaded onto smartphones and tablets. Thanks to sequence mapping and physics simulations, when visitors turned on the app and pointed their devices at the massive billboards in the square, they were virtually transported to their own personal funhouse, complete with 3D fireworks display and amazing card tricks. Sound fun? We thought so.
