MiO POV
MiO POV used RTMP streaming to capture live video, coupled with a UNION chat service to communicate with concertgoers.
The Challenge
When TAXI told us about an idea that would allow concertgoers to broadcast themselves live onto video boards , we were intrigued. The concept, a promo for MiO liquid water enhancer, had never been done before. The question was: how do we capture the video from individual smartphones, vet it on the fly, and feed it to a series of video billboards?
Our Solution
The answer: MiO POV. A downloadable app, MiO POV used RTMP streaming to capture live video, coupled with a UNION chat service that would allow a director to communicate with app users. The setup included a delay feature to prevent people from broadcasting their naughty bits, and a queue system to handle the volume of crowd footage. We also helped define Wi-Fi requirements for the public square, easing interference from local 3G networks. People became the billboard, and had a great time experiencing a never-been-seen-before, tech extravaganza.
