The Next Star
Working with the YTV team, we created a fun, well-designed site that was simple enough for any kid to use.
The Challenge
One of Canada’s top shows for tweens, YTV’s Next Star needed a new site that would not only be engaging, but could become the star of the show itself. The site needed to give kids an opportunity to interact with the show by posting audition tapes and voting to decide who would become the show’s “Virtual Star”. Most importantly, the site had to be a good time – it had to be fun!
Our Solution
Working with the YTV team, we created a fun, well-designed and functional site that was simple enough for any kid to use. The site let Next Star fans create posters, record and post auditions and vote for the show’s ultimate winner. In total, it served up almost a million videos to several hundred thousand visitors. In the end, all the hard work paid off when the site was recognized at the 2012 Kidscreen Awards, for Best Companion Website.
