Skittles
The interactive Youtube masthead allowed visitors to interact with the screen – using only their finger.
The Challenge
BBDO had a hit campaign on their hands. “Taste the Rainbow” for Skittles was generating the kind of press any agency or brand would die for. To build on the success of the campaign, the creative team wanted to do something out of the ordinary. They wanted to allow people to interact with a series of ads, using only a finger on a non-touch computer screen. We were brought onboard to make it happen.
Our Solution
Building off the playfulness of the campaign, Pixelpusher built an interactive Youtube masthead that allowed Taste the Rainbow visitors to browse, view and interact with characters from the ad campaign – using only their finger on their screen. We included playful animations and navigation that seamlessly integrated onto the Skittles YouTube channel. In addition to generating millions of views, the masthead videos also won a Cannes lion. Not too shabby.
